I, myself am not an ordinary man. Although I work in a technology related industry, developing websites and producing films, I don’t consider myself to be a nerd, or even the much milder geek. However I do wear bow ties, and proudly, and refer to other chaps with words like chaps and fellows.
I am instead a designer, filmmaker, photographer, reader, outdoorsman and general all around adventurer. Some of my heroes in history had the same sort of diversity, one of the greatest in my estimation being Teddy Roosevelt. He was a statesman, serving as the mayor of New York and both Vice-President and President of the United States, a hunter, taking several hunting trips in Africa to kill elephants, an explorer, journeying out on an expedition to the Amazon two years before his death, a major contributor to which this trip proved to be, a cowboy, ranching for several decades in the Black Hills of Dakota and even quite a bounty hunter when two outlaws stole some of his property and he traveled by wagon to chase them down. Needless to say, he succeeded at the venture, like many other ventures of his life.
So, diverse though I may be, I hope to say that I am in good company.
